About the Opportunity:

The Machinist position performs all aspects necessary for the machining processes used in the manufacturing of components.

Location: Stuart, FL. Onsite. Monday to Thursday, 5 AM to 3 PM.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate Manual or CNC equipment to produce components as outlined in the methods and process sheets
  • Changes, sets, and adjusts precision tools as required
  • Loads and deletes programs in the computer
  • Learn the machinability of metals
  • Demonstrate a good mechanical aptitude
  • Checks parts using specified gages or furnished fixtures to ensure dimensions are maintained
  • Performs routine maintenance checks and reports improper machine function
  • Maintains a neat and orderly work area
  • Follows all applicable safety rules and precautions
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of one (1) year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time bases without sponsorship now or in the future. The Company cannot offer employment to visa holders who require employer sponsorship in the future or cannot work now on a full-time basis.
  • Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of Doosan VTS and/or Okuma VTM
  • Working knowledge of the machinability of metals, with a good mechanical aptitude
  • Knowledge and ability to use machinist’s hand tools and precision measuring instruments
  • Knowledge of shop geometry and trigonometry
  • Effective written and verbal communications skills to write routine reports and correspondence and to speak before employees in the organization
  • Good math skills, with the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals

Working Conditions:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel.
  • Must be able to communicate verbally and have the ability to hear.
  • The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and stoop or crouch.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds, at times up to 50 pounds.
  • Personal protective equipment (e.g., safety glasses and safety shoes) is required on the shop floor
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, electrical equipment, acetone, alcohol, argon, braze alloys, nitrogen, hydrogen, oil-based lubricants and cleaning solutions.
  • The employee is occasionally exposed to moderate cold and extreme heat.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually middling.
