PART-TIME SHIFT: 2pm - 6pm
POSITION SUMMARY
Ensure safe and efficient production; ensure accuracy; document and record information; maintain laser safety throughout the facility.
PRIMARY OBJECTIVES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Ensure safe and efficient production by setting up company machines, materials, nests, and programming per standards. Safely and accurately operate machines to produce metal work pieces to quality and efficiency standards, and repetitively lifting and placing metal blanks or work pieces into bins, boxes, etc. when unloading tables. Reads and interprets machining instructions, job orders, and blueprints to determine dimensional specifications, sequences of operations, setups, and tooling requirements. Selects and sets cutting speeds, feed rates, appropriate cutting gases, and cutting tools according to machining instructions or knowledge of metal properties
  • Ensure accuracy by measuring dimensions of finished work pieces to ensure conformance to specifications using precision measurement devices as required. Read work orders to determine specifications, such as materials to be used, dimensions and tolerances, proper labeling of parts, etc., and accurately complete all required functions to ensure only quality product is produced and shipped to customers. Measures, examines, and ensures conformance to specifications. Verifies conformance of machined work to specifications using measuring instruments such as; calipers, micrometers, and fixed or telescoping gauges.
  • Document and record information by entering, recording, storing or maintaining information in written or electronic form. Perform operator maintenance on machines to address quality/productivity issues and per established maintenance schedules.
  • Maintain laser safety throughout the facility by enforcing existing safety rules/procedures and participating in revising and upgrading safety standards.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Handles all other duties as assigned in order to contribute to overall success of the company.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required. This is normally acquired through a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic CAD skills and blueprint reading
  • Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and computers.
  • Ability to become qualified to perform Lock-Out/Tag-Out procedures.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds required.
  • Ability to become trained in use of Overhead Crane/Hoist.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time; up to 80% of day.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
High School Diploma or equivalent required. Accreditation from technical school or applicable skilled trades program preferred.
