About the Role

The Maintenance Mechanic performs maintenance and repair of machinery and mechanical equipment in accordance with contract requirements. This role is responsible for diagnosing equipment issues, conducting repairs, and ensuring all systems operate safely and efficiently under the direction of the immediate supervisor.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and diagnose mechanical and equipment issues to determine the source of malfunctions.
  • Perform repairs involving dismantling, repairing, and reassembling machinery and mechanical components using hand and power tools.
  • Replace defective or worn parts using stock materials or fabricated components.
  • Operate or coordinate with machine shops for fabrication or major repairs as needed.
  • Prepare written specifications for major repairs or part fabrication.
  • Reassemble equipment and perform adjustments to ensure proper operation.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities and repairs performed.
  • Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience as a Maintenance Mechanic or in a related mechanical trade.
  • Demonstrated experience in troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining mechanical equipment.
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, repair techniques, and safety practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, drawings, and specifications.
  • Experience in a government or contract environment; machine shop or fabrication experience is preferred.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain access to the designated military installation, as required.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license and a safe driving record, in accordance with company policy, to operate vehicles or equipment as required for the position.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • Physical requirements include (but are not limited to) the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, push, pull, carry, stoop, bend, squat, and reach for extended periods.
  • Must be able to work on-call, alternate, and extended shifts, including weekends and holidays, as required to meet mission needs.
  • Work may be performed indoors or outdoors in varying environmental conditions.
  • Must be able to work in confined spaces, at heights, and around mechanical hazards while using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
