Job description

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum one (1) year experience in Security strongly preferred
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Valid Georgia Driver's License
  • Company policy requires that one must be 21 years of age or older to drive a company vehicle
  • Current CPR/AED certification
  • Proficient in Windows XP and Microsoft Office software applications such as: Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Must have ability to courteously present information to people in one-on-one and group situations

  • Exhibits the Sea Island Five-Star Behavior Standards with guests, members and co-workers
  • Must possess a positive attitude and have the ability to work with a variety of people and in cooperation with coworkers efficiently and effectively
  • Must be detail oriented and able to manage competing priorities and multiple deadlines in a fast paced environment

Tasks/Responsibilities:

  • Monitor entry and exits at the gate assuring only members, guests, or authorized personnel are allowed access
  • Graciously welcome guests and members to Sea Island or proper location as they arrive
  • Learn the names and personally recognize our regular Guests and Members
  • Routinely patrol buildings and grounds
  • Pick up all lost and found and deliver to the Control Center Coordinator
  • Pick up cash bags at golf courses and deliver to Revenue Control
  • Assist with transportation of alcohol from various outlets
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of current guest services, activities, dining options, shops, local attractions, and historical information regarding Sea Island and the surrounding area
  • Warn violators of rule infractions such as loitering, trespassing, removing property without authorization and direct persons off the property as warranted
  • Examine doors, windows and gates to determine that they are secure
  • Inspect equipment and machinery to ascertain if tampering has occurred
  • Watch for and report irregularities such as fire hazards, leaking water pipes and security doors left unlocked
  • Sound alarm and call police or fire department by telephone in case of fire or presence of unauthorized persons
  • Record data such as property damage, unusual occurrences and malfunctioning of machinery or equipment to supervisor
  • Monitor parking, making sure that employees park in designated areas
  • Observe departing staff to guard against theft of company property
  • Investigate reported thefts and/or losses from guests, members and employees
  • Assist guests when problems occur with safes, locks, and preparing loss/theft reports
  • Report to the scene of any accident or injury to guests, determine extent of injury with guests, decide if emergency squad is required, notify operator to call appropriate facility, and prepare reports for insurance
  • Maintain liaison with local law enforcement agencies and provide support to local police when they are called to Sea Island
  • Check residences of company executives when necessary
  • Stay informed on project locations, access routes, etc
  • Relay necessary information to delivery drivers, workmen and other authorized personnel
  • Work with all resort departments to maintain maximum rapport and open communication channels
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of current guest services, activities, dining options, shops, local attractions, and historical information regarding Sea Island and the surrounding area to answer any questions guests may have to the best of one's ability
  • If applicable, complete a Guest Problem Resolutions (GPR) form on any issues (solved or unsolved issues) and follow-up on issues as needed (if computer access is not available give information to admin support)
  • Maintains cleanliness and organization in all work areas
  • Uphold appropriate departmental standards of quality/timing
  • Uphold and ensure compliance with all company and departmental policies and procedures
  • Report all equipment problems and maintenance issues, known safety hazards, or unsafe practices and procedures to supervisor immediately
  • Attends all scheduled employee meetings and brings suggestions for improvement
  • Willing and timely execution of other duties as delegated by leadership

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to kneel, crouch, squat, crawl, climb, stand, sit, balance, reach, bend, push, pull, walk and run for prolonged periods
  • Must have the ability to work for extended time periods in an outdoor environment, including sun, heat, cold, wind, rain, and higher than normal noise levels
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks with accuracy
  • Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal
  • May be exposed to mechanical, electrical, chemical and fume hazards
  • Maintain compliance with Company Resort Professional Image Policy
