POSITION SUMMARY:

The Machining Manufacturing Manager will lead day-to-day shop operationsโ€”overseeing CNC, manual machining and Coils, managing schedules, ensuring safety, quality, and mentoring machinists. Through strategic day to day actions, implement efficiency improvements, liaise with engineering, quoting, quality, maintenance, and report to senior leadership.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Production Planning & Scheduling:

โ€ข Develop and maintain daily/weekly production schedules

โ€ข Collaborate with internal stakeholders & planning to hit delivery targets


Team leadership and Development:

โ€ข Supervise and Mentor machinist personnel

โ€ข Conduct performance reviews and manage corrective actions

โ€ข Hire, onboard and train staff


Machining Oversight:

โ€ข Supervise machining shift leads, CNC programmers, machinist, operators

โ€ข Develop and execute strategic plans for process improvements and implementation

โ€ข Provide strategic data to day guidance to the machining department aimed at attaining KPIโ€™s

โ€ข Work with senior management to develop KPIโ€™s for the department


Equipment & Inventory Management:

โ€ข Coordinate maintenance and ensure uptime

โ€ข Oversee tooling, materials purchasing, and tool crib controls


Continuous Improvement & Reporting:

โ€ข Implement lean initiatives to optimize workflow

โ€ข Track KPIs (efficiency, scrap, downtime) and share metrics with management


Customer & Cross-Functional Coordination:

โ€ข Support RFQs, labor estimates, and part quoting

โ€ข Address technical queries and update clients on progress


General:

โ€ข Review of all procedures related to your job per โ€œHR LG 01 Training Matrixโ€

Requirements:

SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

โ€ข Proficient in CNC mill and lathe operations

โ€ข Proficient with selection and use of inspection equipment and techniques.

โ€ข Proficient with Interpret of drawings and specifications.

โ€ข Understands basics of office computer software

โ€ข Familiar with use of ERP System(s)


QUALIFICATIONS:

โ€ข 5 years minimum experience in machining operations supervisory or management role

โ€ข Associateโ€™s or bachelorโ€™s in manufacturing, Engineering, or related field preferred โ€” or equivalent shop experience

โ€ข Must be a team player and willing to complete professional development goals


WORK ENVIRONMENT:

โ€ข The performance of this position will require exposure to the manufacturing areas where all areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, hearing protection, steel toe shoes, and other mandatory safety equipment.

โ€ข For the most part, ambient temperatures with typical plant lighting and manufacturing equipment are present throughout the facility.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

โ€ข Sit or stand as needed.

โ€ข Walking primarily on a level surface for periodic periods throughout the day.

โ€ข Reaching above shoulder height, below the waist, or lifting as required to reach documents or store materials throughout the workday.

โ€ข Proper lifting techniques required.

โ€ข Ability and comfortability to work in small confine spaces while following proper safety protocol.

โ€ข Ability to accomplish the physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
