Job description

Responsible for machine operations and quality control/inspections.

 

Machine Operator – Waterjet:

  • Set up and run waterjet cutting machines to produce parts according to job orders and blue prints.
  • Program machine controls using CAD/CAM or proprietary software to ensure accurate cutting paths.
  • Monitor cutting parameters like water pressure, abrasive flow, and cutting speed to maintain quality and efficiency.
  • Inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, gauges, or laser scanners to verify tolerances.
  • Perform routines maintenance, including changing abrasive media, cleaning nozzles, pump rebuilds, and troubleshooting mechanical issues.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine dimensions, tolerances, and cutting sequence.
  • Meet production quotas for machined parts.
  • Maintain a clean, safe workspace.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Hourly Pay Range: $25.00 - $29.50

 

Machine Operator I and II:

The levels of I and II are determined by the amount of skill and ability of the operator. Machine Operator I operates one machine. Machine Operator II operates multiple machines, cross trains and mentors other employees on the process.

Education and Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED preferred.

CNC machine experience required.

Demonstrated background in machine shop operations.

Ability to read and understand basic G&M code.

Basic knowledge of cutting tools and perishable tools associated with common types of machining.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. frequently throughout the day and up to 50 lbs. infrequently throughout the day.

Must be able to stand 100% of the day.
