Job description

CNC Swiss Lathe Setup Operator
Location: Onsite
Company: Axian Technology
Reports To: Production Manager

Position Overview
Axian Technology, in North Phoenix, is seeking an experienced CNC Swiss Lathe Setup Operator to join our growing team. This is a hands-on role within our Swiss machining department, responsible for machine setup, production runs, and ensuring parts meet strict aerospace quality standards.

We are looking for a dependable machinist who takes pride in precision work and can operate independently in a fast-paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate modern CNC Swiss lathes for production runs

  • Read and interpret customer blueprints and technical drawings

  • Inspect parts using precision measuring instruments to ensure compliance with specifications

  • Make necessary offsets and adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area

  • Collaborate with the Production Manager and team to meet production goals

Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience setting up CNC lathes (Swiss machining experience preferred)

  • Prior experience in an aerospace machine shop environment

  • Strong understanding of blueprint reading and GD&T

  • Proficiency using inspection tools including micrometers, calipers, drop indicators, comparators, and similar equipment

  • Ability to hold tight tolerances and maintain consistent quality

  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
