Job Title: Electric Power Generation (EPG) Shop Technician

Location: Elkridge, Maryland

Shift: 1st

Starting Compensation Range: $30.45 - $44.40 per hour

The EPG Shop Technician is responsible for accurately diagnosing, troubleshooting and repairing basic operational failures to electrical generator systems and basic engine failures or related components.

Requirements for the EPG Shop Technician position include:

  • Must have excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills
  • Must have excellent mechanical aptitude
  • Must be able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Must be able to interact professionally with customers and all levels of personnel within the organization
  • Must be a strong communicator with excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Must be able to perform well under stressful situations
  • Must be able to demonstrate the ability to learn and apply new knowledge
  • Must be self-starter and well organized with the ability to prioritize workload while providing excellent customer service
  • Must have an excellent driving record
  • Must be able to work additional hours as required and travel as needed to attend training
  • Must be proficient in the use of technical software, databases and manuals

Seeking Candidates with:

  • Previous experience diagnosing and troubleshooting basic engine failures and performing mechanical repairs to electrical generator systems and related equipment or completed EPG Apprenticeship program
  • High school diploma or GED, required

Physical Requirements:

  • Required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear
  • Frequently required to sit
  • Must be capable of lifting up to 70 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
