Job description

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance and repairs throughout the hotel, including guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house spaces, pool facilities, and building systems.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to guest maintenance requests, working to resolve concerns with minimal disruption to the guest experience.
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, install, test, maintain, and repair hotel equipment, fixtures, and facility systems.
  • Follow daily assignments and priorities established by the Maintenance Manager.
  • Assist with plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, wall repair, aquatic systems, and other general building maintenance.
  • Monitor building systems and equipment to identify potential issues before they affect hotel operations or guest comfort.
  • Complete assigned preventive maintenance inspections and accurately document completed work.
  • Coordinate maintenance projects by developing work plans, identifying needed materials and resources, and communicating progress.
  • Assist the Maintenance Manager with hotel safety programs, inspections, documentation, and Hilton brand compliance.
  • Follow all company policies, maintenance procedures, safety requirements, and technical standards.
  • Read and apply technical operating, service, and repair manuals.
  • Evaluate repair and project needs based on feasibility, cost, available resources, and completion timelines.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, storage areas, and mechanical spaces in a clean, safe, and organized condition.
  • Communicate effectively with hotel leadership and other departments regarding maintenance needs, project status, and operational concerns.
  • Assist vendors and contractors working on hotel property as directed.
  • Attend staff, departmental, and safety meetings.
  • Follow required procedures when working with chemicals, machinery, electrical systems, and personal protective equipment.
  • Support emergency maintenance needs and respond to urgent building or equipment issues when required.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

Desired Qualifications
  • Previous building, facilities, hotel, apartment, or commercial maintenance experience preferred.
  • General knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and mechanical systems preferred.
  • Pool or aquatic facility maintenance experience is preferred.
  • Certified Pool Operator certifications are preferred, or willingness to obtain
  • Strong troubleshooting, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Basic math skills and the ability to read measurements and technical information.
  • Ability to read and understand operating, service, and repair manuals.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to completing work safely and accurately.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Hospitality or customer service experience preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English with guests, coworkers, leadership, and vendors.
  • Ability to work independently while also contributing to a collaborative hotel team.
  • Valid driver's license and the ability to maintain required levels of automobile liability insurance.

Schedule and Availability
This is a full-time position with a schedule that may vary based on hotel and operational needs. Availability to work weekdays, weekends, holidays, and occasional on-call or emergency hours may be required. Typical workweeks are approximately 40 hours, with additional hours as business needs require.
