Level II Maintenance Technician

Employment Type: Full-Time

Cardinal Paint and Powder is hiring a talented Level 2 Maintenance Technician in our N. Las Vegas facility. Placement will be determined by experience, skills, and knowledge:

Job Responsibilities: Perform preventive maintenance and Repairs on all production equipment to ensure that it is always in good operating condition. Use electrical and mechanical expertise to troubleshoot and repair equipment. Excellent troubleshooting of AC/DC motors and motor controls, Variable frequency Drives, 24v DC, 120vac – 480vac control systems Maintain specified records of work performed, details of repairs, and materials usage. Interpret manuals, schematics, and blueprints at an intermediate level. Assist in training of coworkers as needed. Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition. Install, troubleshoot and repair electronic control systems, using required knowledge and understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems/components, as well as how they operate. Use safe working practices and always reports all hazardous conditions. Inspect machines, take any required test, and complete “all” reports and paperwork as required for company record. Must adhere to and obey all plant safety rules and regulations and wear all personal protective equipment as directed. Perform all other duties as assigned. Work independently under limited supervision.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Possess functional knowledge of lubricants for all types of machines and performs necessary lubrication of production machines as directed.
  • Preferred but not required, possess functional working knowledge of Extruders, Mills and dust collectors, performs necessary repairs on these items as directed.
  • Functional knowledge in electricity, welding, mechanical, etc.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds repeatedly.
  • Communication and computer skills.
  • Willing and able to perform tasks such as lifting, climbing, crouching, standing, pushing, and/or pulling for up to 10 hours a day.
  • Understand knowledge and safe work practices involving mechanical machinery and lock out tag out processes.

Education & Experience:

  • 4+ years’ experience working in a maintenance department within a manufacturing environment required.
  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent required.
