Job description

Position Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Beamline Operator to operate our PythonX Beam Machine, LS Industries Blaster, and associated material handling equipment including overhead cranes and powered industrial trucks. This role plays a vital part in the fabrication process by ensuring structural steel components are processed accurately, efficiently, and safely to meet production schedules and quality standards.  This shift is for Weekend only working 6:00am-6:00pm Friday-Sunday with a 3.00 shift differential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain the PythonX Beamline Machine, ensuring precision cuts, holes, and marks on structural steel.
  • Operate the LS Industries Shot Blaster to clean and prepare steel beams for fabrication or finishing.
  • Load, unload, and maneuver raw materials and finished components using overhead cranes, forklifts, and other powered equipment.
  • Interpret fabrication drawings, work orders, and technical instructions to ensure accurate processing.
  • Perform basic machine troubleshooting and routine maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Monitor machine outputs to verify compliance with specifications and tolerances.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment following all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with team members, supervisors, and quality inspectors to meet production goals.
  • Log production data, equipment checks, and maintenance activities as required.
  • Actively demonstrate the PTMW Core Values of Credibility, Accountability, Leadership and Fairness in pursuit of the company’s mission.
  • Other duties as assigned or appropriate.

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience operating CNC machinery, beamlines, or similar automated fabrication equipment.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and fabrication drawings.
  • Experience operating overhead cranes and forklifts
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to perform routine equipment maintenance.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and quality.

Preferred:

  • Prior experience with the PythonX Structural Fabrication System.
  • Experience using industrial blasters.
  • Familiarity with structural steel fabrication and material identification.
