  • Review job tickets, specifications, samples, and other production requirements prior to starting each job.
  • Obtain appropriate approvals/OKs before beginning full production.
  • Operate converting equipment safely and efficiently while maintaining expected production speeds.
  • Troubleshoot operating difficulties by analyzing machine operation, inspecting finished products, locating problem areas, and making the mechanical adjustments necessary to correct quality variations or equipment malfunctions.
  • Continuously monitor machine performance and make adjustments throughout the production run.
  • Inspect finished products according to established quality standards and job specifications.
  • Check orders throughout production to ensure accuracy, quality, and proper packaging.
  • Replace paper rolls, window rolls, gum, and other materials as required during production.
  • Clear paper jams and resolve routine equipment issues with minimal disruption to production.
  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and routine cleaning of equipment.
  • Identify mechanical problems requiring additional maintenance support and communicate issues promptly.
  • Pack finished envelopes uniformly, neatly, and accurately while maintaining production speed.
  • Complete required production, quality, waste, and job documentation accurately.
  • Minimize waste through proper machine setup, adjustment, and ongoing monitoring.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Follow all company safety procedures, machine guarding requirements, quality standards, and operating procedures.
  • Work cooperatively with production leads, maintenance, quality, and other operators to keep jobs moving efficiently through the department.
  • Assist with training and knowledge sharing with other operators as appropriate.
  • Perform other production-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Folding Machine Technician, Adjuster, Converting Machine Technician, or in a comparable mechanical production role preferred.
  • Previous experience setting up, adjusting, and troubleshooting converting, folding, printing, packaging, or similar manufacturing equipment strongly preferred.

  • Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work with limited supervision once trained.
  • Strong team player with a positive attitude and willingness to assist others.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, productivity, and continuous improvement.
