Description

Position Summary: 

We are looking for an experienced, motivated, and positive individual to join our team. You must have a mechanical aptitude recent machine operation experience and be skilled in troubleshooting machines. The Machine Operators will set up and operate machines. The ideal candidate will be responsible for processes, formulations, waste control, equipment support, and all other functions related to the manufacture of safety products for the hearing protection industry. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Set up and operate manufacturing equipment to meet product specifications and production goals.

Examine, measure, and weigh materials/products to verify conformance to standards, using measuring devices such as scales.

Monitor the machine operations and observe lights and gauges to detect malfunctions.

Review procedures, work instructions, and work orders to determine materials, settings, and adjustments needed for the manufacture and/or packaging of hearing protection products.

Record and maintain production data such as meter readings, quantities, types, and dimensions of materials used and products produced.

Shut down processes, isolate products, and notify management in the event product fails to meet standards.

Ensure that materials and finished products are moved between storage and work areas using a hand truck or forklift.

Be able to be flexible in work assignments and scheduling as needed.

Requirements

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE & OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

High School Diploma or GED

1+ Year experience as a Machine Operator in a manufacturing environment. 

Mechanical aptitude and simple math skills.

Ability to read and understand procedures, work instructions, and product specifications.

Must be able to lift to 50 lbs. regularly.

Ability to work independently under his/her initiative.

Forklift experience loading and unloading pallets.

The ability to communicate with engineering and management is a must.

PC, calculator, and scale familiarity.

MS Windows Experience.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to occasionally sit, climb or balance; the employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; talk or hear.
