Job Title: Machine Operator
Job Description
This role is an excellent opportunity for a reliable Machine Operator to support a manufacturing facility in Markleville on 2nd or 3rd shift. You will operate production machinery, handle bulk materials, and monitor product quality while working in a hot, fast-paced environment that produces bubble wrap and reflective wrap used at construction sites.
Responsibilities
- Manually load bulk materials into production machinery in a safe and efficient manner.
- Set up and operate machines, including making precise adjustments to speed and temperature settings to maintain optimal production performance.
- Use thickness gauges and other quality instruments to verify that products meet required client specifications.
- Monitor the production process and make necessary adjustments to maintain consistent product quality and output.
- Perform general production and packaging tasks as needed to support overall manufacturing operations.
- Read and follow work instructions and basic blueprints to ensure correct setup and operation of equipment.
- Use hand tools and related equipment to perform routine tasks and minor adjustments on machines.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area to support safety and efficiency.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures, including proper handling of materials and equipment in a hot environment.
- Lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds throughout the shift.
- Work overtime as needed, including some weekend shifts, to meet production demands.
Essential Skills
- Experience as a machine operator or in general production or general labor within a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to manually load bulk materials into machinery and perform repetitive physical tasks safely.
- Comfort working in a hot work environment for the duration of the shift.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
- Proficiency using thickness gauges and other quality instruments to check product specifications.
- Ability to read and follow work instructions and basic blueprints.
- Experience with machine operation, machine operating, and packaging tasks.
- Ability to use hand tools safely and effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining product quality and cleanliness of the work area.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Familiarity with gauge tools and quality measurement instruments.
- Experience following written work instructions in a production setting.
- Comfort with heavy lifting and physically demanding work.
- Experience in operating machinery in a manufacturing or industrial facility.
- Ability to work 2nd or 3rd shift and be available for overtime as production demands.

Work Environment
This position is based in a small manufacturing facility that produces bubble wrap and reflective wrap commonly used at construction sites. The production process requires heat to adhere layers of material together, resulting in a consistently hot work environment. Machine Operators work on 2nd shift from 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with expected overtime that may include Saturday work as production demands. 3rd shift runs from 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., Sunday through Thursday, with expected overtime that may include Friday work. The role involves regular heavy lifting, extended periods of standing, operating machinery, using hand tools, and working near heated equipment in a fast-paced production setting. Dress comfortably and appropriately for a hot industrial environment, following all safety guidelines and protective equipment requirements.
