Job description


FABRICATION

REPORTS TO: Fabrication Supervisor

SUMMARY:

Perform manual labor on various machines in numerous departments.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Including the following (other duties may be documented and assigned by management and some duties may not apply dependent upon the requirements of the position at each specific Tarter site and/or the strengths of the employee and the needs of the company):

1. Operate machinery and computers that may include the following: band saw, press brake, plasma table, minster press, iron worker, tube bender, tube notcher, drill press, overhead crane, or forklift.

2. Responsible for quality control. Make adjustments as necessary to produce product with specifications.

3. Complete daily production logs.

4. Clean and maintain a neat work area (5S projects and continuous improvements).

5. Initial set-up and inspection of equipment to be operated.

6. Communicate with operators and set-ups from other shifts.

7. Start up and shut down procedures.

8. Assist mechanics and machinists in repair work.

9. Be able to cross train on other jobs.

10. Perform equipment change-overs.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge, skills & abilities: Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Effective interpersonal, organizational, verbal and written communication skills required. This position performs job duties in an ethical and professional manner. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

1. Basic math skills.

2. Flexibility to work in many different areas.

3. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

2. Manuel dexterity required for operating machinery and computers.

3. Must be able to read a tape measure.

4. Blue print experience a must.


WORKING CONDITIONS

Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. Work involves frequent lifting of materials and product up to 50 pounds. Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to; eye safety glasses, hearing protectors and work boots. Loose fitting jewelry and clothes are not permitted.
