Job Title: Machine Operator

Job Description

This role operates molding, machining, casting, and other manufacturing equipment to produce high-quality parts in a fast-paced production environment. You will rotate across various machines and processes, perform visual inspections, and ensure products meet quality standards while following strict safety procedures. The position requires frequent lifting, use of hand and power tools, and the ability to work independently throughout the production cycle.

Responsibilities

• Operate molding, machining, casting, and other manufacturing machines according to work instructions and safety procedures.
• Rotate between various machines, processes, and production lines as needed to support overall workflow and output.
• Place proper inserts on mold tables to prepare for forming and casting operations.
• Fill and pack boxes with sand and other materials while working in a warm, open production environment.
• Use hand tools and power tools to remove molds and trim flash from parts in accordance with work orders and specifications.
• Perform visual inspections of parts to identify any flaws, defects, or irregularities and take appropriate corrective actions.
• Stack, palletize, and organize finished products to support quality control and efficient material handling.
• Lift and move materials and products weighing up to 100 pounds throughout the workday, using proper lifting techniques.
• Occasionally operate a forklift to move materials or products when authorized and trained to do so.
• Maintain careful machine operation at all times to support quality control and prevent equipment damage or safety incidents.
• Process products for casting and other manufacturing steps while working independently and following established procedures.
• Support general production tasks such as assembly, fabrication, and material handling as needed to meet production goals.

Essential Skills

• At least 12 months of machine operation experience or related manufacturing experience.
• Proven ability to operate manufacturing machines such as molding, machining, casting, or similar equipment.
• Experience using hand tools, power tools, and pneumatic tools in a production or construction environment.
• Ability to read and follow work orders, blueprints, and production instructions.
• Capability to lift up to 100 pounds repeatedly throughout the workday.
• Comfort working in an open production environment that can be warm, especially in the summer.
• Strong attention to detail for visual inspection of parts and quality control.
• Ability to work independently and manage tasks with minimal supervision.
• Willingness to rotate between different machines, processes, and departments as needed.
• Commitment to following safety procedures, including wearing required protective equipment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in general labor, general production, or manufacturing environments.
• Experience in assembly, fabrication, or material handling.
• Exposure to construction, concrete work, carpentry, or heavy-duty equipment operation.
• Familiarity with skid steer operation or similar material handling equipment.
• Comfort working with blueprints or technical drawings.
• Forklift operation experience is a plus.
• Steel-toed boots and safety glasses are required as part of the standard protective equipment.
• Ability to adhere to dress code requirements, including no shorts and no cut-off sleeves.

Work Environment

The role is based in an open production facility that can be warm, particularly during the summer months. You will work around molding, machining, casting, and other manufacturing equipment, as well as hand tools, power tools, and pneumatic tools. The position involves frequent lifting of up to 100 pounds and regular material handling, stacking, and palletizing. Safety is prioritized, and employees must wear steel-toed boots and safety glasses at all times. The dress code prohibits shorts and cut-off sleeves to maintain a safe and professional environment. Work may include occasional forklift operation and rotation across multiple departments and machines to support production demands.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of LE SUEUR, MN.

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $24.25/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
