Job description

Job Description

The Machine Operator is responsible for manufacturing finished components while achieving safety, quality, and delivery objectives. They have the opportunity to use a wide range of production machines and hand tools on a daily basis and produce finished goods from drawings and work instructions in addition to providing production feedback to increase manufacturing quality and efficiency. They maintain material inventory and record inventory levels and well as performing machinery maintenance, inspecting machines for proper operation, and adjusting and repairing them as needed.

Redwood Machine Works is seeking a Machine Operator for a 2 month term at 40 hours per week, with the possibility for extension at the end of two months.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
  • Operate Industrial machinery such as: Waterjets, Bandsaws, and Forklifts
  • Read and follow work Instructions and drawings.
  • Use basic measuring tools competently and achieve required tolerance.
  • Ability to effectively solve problems and repair machinery and equipment.
  • Work independently and with other team members.
  • Organize material shelves and racks so raw material can be located easily.
  • Safely use hand tools such as: Drills, Saws, and Grinders
  • Inspect finished products for quality or defects.
  • Lift and move 50lb objects on a regular basis.

Qualifications

  • Competently read and speak English.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in manufacturing operating similar machinery
  • Self-motivated and very organized
  • CNC computer skills
  • Experience safely using forklifts.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Has basic hand tools to accomplish all job ‘Responsibilities’
  • Can use a step ladder and lift and carry 50lbs.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or legally allowed to work in the U.S.
