Abrasives Mold Preparation Technician

Location: Farmington Hills, MI
Employment Type: Full-Time
Industry: Precision Manufacturing / Industrial Machinery
Sponsored by: Connect Force Recruiting

Company Overview

Connect Force Recruiting is partnering with a well-established precision manufacturing company in the Farmington Hills area that supports advanced industrial and automotive manufacturing environments. This organization is known for quality, technical craftsmanship, and producing specialized tooling used in high-precision manufacturing processes.

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Abrasives Mold Preparation Technician to support a specialized sintering and abrasive tooling process. This role is responsible for accurately measuring, mixing, and packing abrasive compounds into molds, while helping ensure finished products meet required dimensional and quality standards.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in precision, and wants to build experience in a technical manufacturing environment. No formal education is required — just a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to follow written instructions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Verify correct ingredients and materials for abrasive compound preparation.
  • Measure and weigh precise ingredient amounts according to work instructions.
  • Mix abrasive compounds accurately and consistently.
  • Pack prepared materials into molds for the sintering process.
  • Support forming and preparation of molds used in abrasive tooling production.
  • Check finished abrasives to ensure correct dimensions after sintering.
  • Follow written work instructions, quality standards, and safety procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
  • Use basic shop tools and supplies as needed.
Required Qualifications
  • No formal education required.
  • Experience using basic shop tools and shop supplies.
  • Ability to follow written work instructions accurately.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality.
  • Comfortable measuring, weighing, and handling materials with precision.
  • Dependable, safety-focused, and comfortable in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift materials throughout the shift.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous manufacturing, production, tooling, or shop experience.
  • Experience with measuring, weighing, mixing, molding, or material preparation.
  • Background in abrasive tooling, ceramics, sintering, or precision manufacturing is a plus, but not required.
  • Ability to work independently while staying aligned with production and quality expectations.
Work Environment

This position is performed in a manufacturing setting with exposure to machinery, noise, and temperature variations. Employees are required to follow all safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE. The role involves regular standing, walking, bending, lifting, and handling of materials.

Why This Opportunity Stands Out

This role gives you the chance to learn a specialized manufacturing process that supports high-precision industrial production. You will gain hands-on experience with abrasive tooling, mold preparation, and sintering-related processes while working with a stable, respected company in the precision manufacturing space.
