Job Type: Full-time

Salary Range: $24.00 – $25.00/ hour + DOE

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and reliable Drill Press Operator to join a steel fabrication team. In this role, you will set up and operate conventional or radial drill presses to create precise, clean holes and finishes in metal. You will work closely with technical drawings to ensure all finished components meet strict quality standards and company specifications.
Key Responsibilities

  • Machine Setup & Operation: Review blueprints, work orders, and technical drawings to determine specific job specifications, hole locations, and dimensions.
  • Tooling Selection: Choose the correct drill bits, chucks, and cutting speeds based on material type and task requirements.
  • Material Management: Securely clamp materials onto the press table and perform standard drilling, tapping, reaming, countersinking, and counterboring operations
  • Quality Assurance: Inspect and verify the accuracy of finished parts using calipers, micrometers, and precision gauges to prevent defects.
  • Routine Maintenance: Clean and lubricate machines daily, monitor fluid levels, and swap out worn drill bits or tooling.
  • Cross-Training: Maintain flexibility to be cross-trained on other shop equipment, such as saws, shear presses, rollers or grinders.
  • Safety Compliance: Maintain a clean, organized workspace and strictly adhere to all OSHA safety rules and equipment guidelines.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience operating a drill press machinery in a fabrication environment.
