Job Summary

The Press Operator is responsible for producing high‐quality printed labels using flexographic printing equipment. This role includes staging materials, setting up and running flexo presses, monitoring print quality, and supporting overall pressroom operations. Operators must maintain efficient workflow, follow job specifications, and assist with quality control throughout production.


Key Responsibilities

Press Operation & Setup

  • Operate flexographic printing presses and other assigned printing machinery.
  • Stage presses with required materials, tooling, inks, and plates for efficient workflow.
  • Review job tickets and client requests to understand print specifications, quantities, and color requirements.
  • Align, configure, and calibrate press settings for accurate registration and print consistency.

Quality Control

  • Inspect random samples during production to verify print quality, color accuracy, and alignment.
  • Assist with pressroom quality control procedures and documentation.
  • Identify and correct print defects or mechanical issues during runs.

Maintenance & Troubleshooting

  • Perform routine maintenance on flexo presses, including cleaning, lubrication, and minor repairs.
  • Troubleshoot printing issues and make basic mechanical adjustments to minimize downtime.

Production Reporting & Housekeeping

  • Draft and submit daily production reports.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area around printing machinery.
