Job description

JOB SUMMARY

The Machine Operator (Press Brake) will be responsible for performing all forming functions on fabricated sheet metal parts according to the directions or

specifications given.


JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Works on assignments that are moderately complex where occasional independent judgment is required.

• Normally receives no instructions on routine work, detailed instruction on new assignments.


MAJOR TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)

• Set up and operate Amada Press Brake (RG 80, RG-50)

• Apply folds to fabricated sheet metal parts per drawing requirements

• Required to do in process inspection

• All other duties as assigned


SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Ability to utilize an Amada Press Brake (RG80, RG50 and RG25)

• Ability to utilize Amada NC-9EX Controller

• Capable of using hand inspection tools (i.e. calipers)

• Amada Astro robotic press brake

• Amada Dr. Abe press brake software

• Must be able to program machines using Dr. Abe software


WORKING CONDITIONS

• Sitting occurs up to 30% of the time for brief or extended periods.

• Lifting/carrying occurs approximately 30% of the time up to 25 pounds.

• Handling/grasping occur approximately 75% of the time.

• Standing/walking occurs up to 75% of the time on concrete floors.

• Work is performed in a Sheet Metal Shop. Exposure to noise requires use of earplugs. Safety glasses are required when performing various job duties.

• Occasional use of forklift is required.


EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

• High School graduate or equivalent

• Minimum of 3 years prior related experience
