Job description

NABRICO Marine Products, is searching for Safety Oriented Specialty Operator/Press (1st Shift) that will be based in our Ashland City, TN plant.
NABRICO's Inland Barge Group is comprised of NABRICO Marine Products, a leading manufacturer of barges used to transport cargo on U.S. inland waterways. NABRICO Marine Products manufactures dry cargo barges, including flat-deck and hopper barges, that are used to transport a variety of products including grain, coal, and aggregates. NABRICO Marine Products also manufactures tank barges that carry petroleum, fertilizer, ethanol, chemicals, and other liquid cargoes. It is the largest U.S. manufacturer of fiberglass hopper barge covers used primarily on grain barges. Additionally, NABRICO Marine Products provides a full line of deck hardware to the marine industry, including hatches, castings, and winches for towboats and dock facilities.
What you'll do:
  • Sets up and operates metal fabricating machines such as press and heavy-duty presses to cut, bend, straighten, and form metal parts specified by blueprints, layouts, and templates.
  • Follow all safety rules and practices.
  • Maintains and completes all required records.
  • May be involved in safety committees or initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What you'll need:
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience.
  • Good knowledge of operating metal fabricating machinery.
  • Must be able to read blueprints, engineering specifications and shop orders to determine machine setup.
  • Ability to use and troubleshoot hand tools, including measuring tape.
  • Capable of setting up and operating conventional equipment with multiple processes of turns.
  • Possess some knowledge of shop math.
  • Safely and efficiently performs all essential functions.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Willing to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.
