Job description

Job Overview

Hubbell is seeking Press Machine Operators for our 2nd Shift Press Department in our Chatsworth, CA facility. Press Machine Operators will be part of a dynamic and diverse team during a time of growth. Press Operators will be producing thermoset compression molded parts of various sizes while using hydraulic-powered presses. Pay will begin at $20.50 per hour plus receive a 10% shift premium for all hours worked in the 2nd Shift. In addition, as a newly hired employee with the company, you will be eligible to receive a $1000 retention bonus after the 90th day with Hubbell. Health care benefits start on the first of the month following your hire date. 

The Company will consider for employment qualified applicants with criminal histories in a manner consistent with the requirements of the LA Fair Chance Initiative for Hiring Ordinance (FCIHO).

A Day In The Life
  • Able to read press cover blueprints to verify correct information for processing.
  • Be able to locate and identify materials required for your production.
  • Properly weigh and handle material per requirements.
  • Must be able to operate Press control panel.
  • Must be able to operate scissor lift table to safely off load and demold finished goods while following standard procedures set.
  • Pre-check ensuring condition of Press Machine, light curtains, power tools, PPE, and lift table are all operable.
  • Foster 6s and sustain practices.
  • Must be familiar and comfortable to use basic hand held tools, including powered ones such as power drill, angle grinder, rubber mallet, scissors, and retractable knives.

   Ability to follow instructions.
   Ability to work in a group environment, and ask for help when needed.
   Ability to work independently and carry out assignments within given parameters.
   Ability to work with tools including hammers, drills, sanders, screwdrivers, scissors, etc.

Physical Requirements
   Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions, including meeting productivity standards.
   Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with company policies.
   Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, work in a fast paced environment with repetitive motion, clutch, lift, grab, bend, stoop, push and pull with no difficulties, be on feet during 100% of the work shift, and clearly communicate issues.

Equivalent Education/Experience
   Heavy manufacturing and construction experience preferred.
   High school diploma preferred but not required.
