Job description

Bethel University has an opening for a full-time Custodian to work first shift
(7:00 AM to 3:30 PM).

This individual will be responsible for cleaning assigned campus buildings and their contents using specified products and equipment and replenishing supplies as needed to maintain a clean, safe, and attractive physical facility according to the university's quality standards.
Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
  • Cleaning building entrances, hallways, classrooms, restrooms, laboratories, offices, floor and windows and their contents.
  • Dry vacuuming rugs, carpets, and upholstered furniture periodically to remove light soil and dust
  • Washing areas such as windows, blinds, door panels, sills, and woodwork using cleaning solutions, poles, and squeegees to remove dirt
  • Polishing furniture and metalwork with oils and other solutions
  • Sweeping, scrubbing, stripping, waxing, and polishing floors using brooms, mops, and powered scrubbing and waxing machines as needed.
  • Cleaning dorm facilities in the summer months
  • A commitment to support the university mission and is also required.
