Job description

Job Title:Material Handler
Reports to: Materials Management Supervisor
Location: On Site, Wausau, WI
Shift/Hours: 1st shift/5am-1:30pm M-F
About the role: The Material Handler coordinates the inbound, storage and outbound movement of raw materials, components and finished goods. The Material Handler will define production schedules to optimize inventory levels and customer delivery along with ensuring that inventories are secure, properly identified and easily accessible to the authorized personnel.
Key Responsibilities:
This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.
  • Pull and remove parts from machines, carts, pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand.
  • Remove metal skeleton from fabricated parts.
  • Stack material onto rack or cart for distribution.
  • Move material from storage or work site to designated area.
  • Lift objects by hand or with assistive devices, and cleans work area, machines, and equipment to assist machine operator.
  • De-bur punched metal parts.
  • Operate forklift to assist in loading or moving materials or products.
  • Count, weigh, and record number of units of materials moved or handled on a daily production sheet.
  • Dump scrap bins when filled.
  • Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Education, Experience and Skills:
  • High school diploma with at least 1 year of production or related experience.
  • Must be a self-starter and be able to work independently.
  • Ability to lift objects weighing between 25-50 pounds frequently.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Good verbal communication skills.
  • Must have effective problem-solving and critical thinking skills to quickly resolve issues.
