Job description

We have an outstanding Contract to Hire position for a Machine Operator to join a leading Company located in the Winsted,CT surrounding area.

Pay Rate:

Position will set up, operate, and maintain at least one process machine (rotary, surface grinder, etc.) meeting both safety and production requirements. Maintain all quality and production records and assist with training as required.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Perform machine set-up and wheel changes in assigned workstation within standard set-up times.
  • Maintain all quality and production records including tooling calibration, daily walk around, etc.
  • Maintain productivity, utilization, schedule and quality records and comply with all standards.
  • Perform inspection of non-certified operators.
  • Assist with training of Machine Trainees as required.
  • Perform TPM duties.
  • Maintain 6S and other area housekeeping standards.
  • Execute clean-up shift procedures.
  • Maintain visual control boards and hour X hour charts.
  • Participate and actively promote continuous improvement activities.
  • Follow policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
  • Actively participate, promote and comply with all Quality and EH&S programs and policies.
  • Achieve and maintain certified status.
  • Maintain acceptable attendance.
  • Perform all other job duties as assigned.

Basic Hiring Criteria:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience.
