Job description

The Licensed Industrial Millwright will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical and industrial equipment used in a highly automated Hilton Foods production facility. This position ensures production reliability, equipment safety, and reliable operations of food processing and packaging lines.



KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES


  • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and schematic drawings to determine work procedures and parts requirements.
  • Install, align, dismantle, and repair machinery such as pumps, conveyors, mixers, grinders, slicers etc.
  • Inspect and examine machinery to detect and investigate malfunctions to improve production yield.
  • Use specialized tools such as welders, hydraulic bolters, and cutting equipment as per job requirement.
  • Provide support in troubleshooting mechanical control systems in conjunction with electrician, automation technician etc.
  • Perform predictive maintenance using techniques such as vibration analysis and precision measurements.
  • Ensure compliance with workplace safety, foodโ€‘safety standards, and environmental regulations.
  • Complete preventative maintenance and corrective work orders, maintenance logs, and documentation accurately in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
  • Operate hoisting and lifting devices such as cranes and jacks safely as per the job requirement.
  • Follow lockout/tagout procedures and maintain safe work practices.



KEY EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS


  • Completion of secondary school is required.
  • Completion of a 4-year Industrial Mechanic Millwright apprenticeship.
  • Valid Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) license (433A)
  • 3โ€“5 years of industrial or manufacturing millwright experience preferred, food manufacturing experience is an asset.
  • Experience with conveyors, pumps, packaging machinery, and sanitary equipment preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
