Davis Machine – CNC Machinist- Weekend Swing Shift

Pay: $22.00- $37.00 per hour

Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Weekend Machinist to join our team at our facility located at 1503 Royal Pkwy, TX. This position is responsible for operating and maintaining machining equipment during weekend shifts while ensuring production goals are achieved safely, accurately, and efficiently.

The ideal candidate has experience working with CNC and/or manual machining equipment, can read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints, and is comfortable working independently or collaboratively in a production environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate various machining tools and equipment, including lathes, mills, grinders, and CNC machines.
  • Set up machines according to specifications, blueprints, and production requirements.
  • Perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting on machinery to minimize downtime.
  • Inspect finished products for quality and dimensional accuracy using precision measuring instruments.
  • Monitor machining operations to ensure parts meet required specifications and quality standards.
  • Follow established safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and deadlines during weekend shifts.
  • Identify and promptly report equipment malfunctions, quality concerns, or safety hazards to supervisors.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Work Schedule:

This position requires availability to work weekend shifts. Specific hours will be discussed during the interview process.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a machinist or in a similar manufacturing role preferred.
  • Experience with CNC machines and/or manual machining equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Familiarity with machining equipment including lathes, mills, and grinders.
  • Ability to use precision measuring instruments to verify part quality and accuracy.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision when necessary.
  • Willingness and availability to work weekend shifts.
  • Ability to stand continuously for up to 8 hours.
  • Ability to repetitively lift up to 50 pounds.
