Job description

Summary Responsible for the efficient and appropriate sanitation of Manufacturing and Processing areas, including trash and cardboard disposal, during production periods.  In event of absence, position will be filled by adequately trained personnel.
 Shift: 3rd Shift Sanitation II - 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other responsibilities w/ similar skill and work conditions as assigned.
  • Cleans and inspects all process equipment for conformity to federal and state sanitation laws and plant standards in an efficient manner.
  • Perform Pre-Op inspection on sanitation state with QA and/or USDA personnel.
  • Self directed cleaning of equipment and work areas, including periodical checks of CIP equipment that does not get broken down daily, to check for effectiveness of cleaning.
  • Inspects premises for unsanitary practices and conditions.
  • Maintains and keeps updated all chemical cleaning procedures.
  • Works closely with Quality Assurance and Sanitation mgmt regarding any sanitation concerns.
  • Confers with management on sanitation problems, and recommends changes in equipment, plant layout, lighting, ventilation, or work practices to improve sanitation standards and effectiveness of process.
  •  Responsible for completing required paperwork accurately and honestly as applicable.
  • Provides weekly review reports regarding regular inspections, sanitation violations, and steps taken to resolve deficiencies. 
 
Responsibilities for Food Safety
  •  Responsible for completing required paperwork accurately and honestly as applicable.
  •  Must adhere to all corporate GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices), established SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) and all Food Safety policies.
  •  Must adhere to all Allergen control programs and procedures as applicable.
  •  Responsible for reporting suspicious packages, activities and individuals.
  •  If monitoring CCPs (Critical Control Points), must be trained in HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) and adhere to approved HACCP plan(s).
 
Positional accountabilities
  • 100% adherence to all company GMP’s (Good Manufacturing Practices) and SOP’s (Standard Operating Procedures); no deviations.
  • Ability to work in an efficient and organized fashion.
