Wieland is hiring a Machine Operator. The Machine operator is to perform various semi-skilled procedures relating to the manufacturing of commercial copper tubing. This role will operate various industrial machines, such as an Inner Groove Level Winder, Bunch Coiler, etc. This role is located in Pine Hall, N.C. and will be fully on-site.
Starting Pay: $18 to $20 per hour (Additional pay levels are available for those interested in progressing.)
Schedule: 12-hour Night shifts available (2-2-3 schedule)
Pay Schedule: Bi-weekly
Responsibilities
Machine Operator Responsibilities:
Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Operate industrial coiling machine manufacturing wound commercial copper coils from tubes of various diameters and wall thickness.
  • Perform set up, operation, change over, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance for machinery.
  • Performs banding operation using hand held pneumatic bander and manually operated crimper.
  • Performs dimensional analysis of copper tubs a designated intervals during processing using micrometer.
  • Use a variety of hand tools such as ratchets, wrenches, pliers, screwdrivers, pry bars, hammers, etc.
  • Conduct safety audit of equipment at the beginning of each shift, records results of audit and submit results to Supervisor.
  • Performs all applicable SOP's, JSA's and QAP's associate with assigned job.
  • Ensure workspace is clean and tidy throughout the department.

Machine Operator Qualifications:
  • High School diploma preferred.
  • Industrial Manufacturing experience considered a plus.
  • Mechanically inclined individual is preferred.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and work in hot/cold environment.
  • Ability to read, write, and solve basic math is required.
