Principal Sales Representative - Industrial Automation

Sentinel Devices

Knoxville, TN • On-site, Remote

Full-time

Re-posted 10 days ago

Job description

About Us

Sentinel Devices is at the forefront of decentralized AI/ML for industrial equipment and process data. We monitor industrial equipment for signs of faults, failures and issues - and the unique part about what we do is we do everything totally offline, totally off of the cloud, for security-sensitive and remote operations. This means we build data collection and monitoring platforms for industrial equipment, watching for signs of anything that can impact customer machinery and cause our customers downtime. Our platform does this while operating completely off of the cloud - all data storage, processing and decision-making happens entirely locally. This means our devices are used to monitor hard-to-reach or security-sensitive assets - we make reaching these assets cost-effective for our customers.

About the Role

We are seeking a talented Principal Sales Representative - ideally with strong knowledge in industrial automation - to launch our sales efforts and bring our technology to smaller-scale customers. This role is ideal for a self-starter who enjoys managing the entire sales process-from prospecting to closing deals-without an existing sales infrastructure. You should be comfortable speaking to and targeting various industries, including but not limited to food processing, manufacturing, and power plants to introduce and sell our innovative zero-cloud data collection and anomaly detection solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Develop Sales Strategy: Create and implement a sales plan targeting potential clients across various industries.

Prospect and Lead Generation: Identify and reach out to potential customers who could benefit and rely upon our solutions.

Sales Process Ownership: Manage the entire sales cycle, including initial contact, product demonstration, negotiation, and closing.

Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and providing tailored solutions.

Product Demonstrations: Effectively communicate the features and benefits of our platform, focusing on the data recording and machine learning capabilities.

Market Research: Stay updated on industry trends, competitor offerings, and potential areas for market expansion.

Feedback Loop: Provide customer feedback to the product development team to influence future enhancements.

Reporting: Maintain accurate records of sales activities and submit regular reports to management.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field preferred.

Experience: Ideally 3-5 years of sales experience in industrial automation or related industries, however new graduates are welcome to apply if they feel their experience or motivation will allow them to succeed.

Industry Knowledge: Ideally an understanding of industrial controllers, data collection, and machine learning applications.

Skills: Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.

Self-Motivated: Ability to work independently and drive results without existing sales support structures.

Networking: Existing connections within industry, such as manufacturing, energy, and/or food processing, etc., are a plus.

Location: Office is located at Knoxville, TN. This position can be hybrid. Travels for client development and maintenance are expected.

P.S. - if the above job doesn't look like it's for you, give the other positions on our job board a look! One of them may be what you're looking for! See https://sentinel-devices.breez... for other opportunities.
