Summary
Precision Tank & Equipment Co. is seeking a dependable, safety-focused Machine Operator / General Laborer to support daily production operations. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, able to follow verbal and written instructions, and committed to maintaining quality, efficiency, and workplace safety in a manufacturing environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Set up, operate, and monitor designated production equipment in accordance with established procedures.
  • Perform routine equipment adjustments and basic preventive maintenance as needed.
  • Load and unload raw materials and finished products onto and from machinery safely and efficiently.
  • Inspect finished output to verify compliance with quality standards and specifications.
  • Adhere to all safety policies, standard operating procedures, and personal protective equipment requirements.
  • Support general labor activities, including material handling, housekeeping, shop organization, and basic facility upkeep.
  • Accurately read and use a tape measure and other basic measuring tools as required.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one-or two-step instructions.
  • Safety-first mindset with knowledge of PPE usage.
  • Strong attention to detail and have a commitment to quality.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous experience as a machine operator or in a manufacturing/warehouse environment is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret basic instructions, measurements, and safety documents.
  • Familiarity with hand tools and basic machine operation.
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds and stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to work in a noisy environment with varying temperatures.
  • Forklift certification is a plus; training will be provided if needed.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and measurements).
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision when required.
Physical Requirements
  • Regularly requires standing, walking, bending, reaching, stooping, and using hands and arms to handle materials and operate equipment.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 30 pounds on a regular basis.
  • May occasionally be required to move heavier items with appropriate equipment or assistance.
  • Specific vision abilities may include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to read measurements and inspect product quality.
