Job Description
Position Summary
The primary responsibility of the Molding Packer is to inspect the product for defects and pack quality product according to work instructions.
Essential Functions
  • Ensuring my safety and the safety of my co-workers is a core value and is my number one priority.
  • Visually inspect product and identify product non-conformities.
  • Pack quality product into boxes, according to customer specifications and Berry quality guidelines.
  • Immediately place non-conforming product into the scrap bins as soon as it is found.
  • Read travelers and compare labels for accuracy.
  • Prepare packaging in accordance with traveler instructions.
  • Repetitive motion work with hands.
  • Communicate questions regarding quality with necessary personnel.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work station.
  • Must be able to read the traveler and complete paperwork.
  • Pack lids or containers from any assigned machine.
  • Knows which supplies are needed each day and where to get them.
  • Report any safety concerns or problems to the Group Leader.
  • Make boxes, as necessary

Qualification Requirements

Manual Dexterity -- The ability to quickly move hand, hand together with arm, or two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects. The employee may also be required to push and pull.
Extent Flexibility -- The ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with your body, arms, and/or legs.
Wrist-Finger Speed -- The ability to make fast, simple, repeated movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists.
Multilimbed Coordination -- The ability to coordinate two or more limbs (for example, two arms, two legs, or one leg and one arm) while sitting, standing, or lying down. It does not involve performing the activities while the whole body is in motion.
Lifting Requirements -- Ability to lift 35 pounds over head to total height of six feet multiple times in a 12-hour shift.
Walking/Standing---Requirements ability to walk and or stand for 12 hours per day.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts.
At a minimum, the environment requires the use of Personal Protective Equipment such as: safety glasses, ear plugs, bump caps, beard/hair nets, and steel toed shoes. Additional PPE maybe needed for various tasks.
Position Hours
  • Assigned 12-hour schedule
  • Schedule rotates as follows: two days on, two days off, three days on, two days off, etc.
  • Flexibility for occasional overtime and call-in work required

Organization Relationships
  • Report directly to Lead Packer for purposes of scheduling, performance evaluation, and compensation assessment
  • Indirectly reports to Department Manager for product requirements, quality requirements, and overall departmental goals;

Safety Expectations
  • Be a Role Model - No exceptions from safety absolutes and plant rules; What you say and do impacts everyone on your shift positively and negatively.
  • If you feel a task that you have been asked to complete is unsafe, stop and request additional information
  • Take Two - THINK!!!, ASK!!!, KNOW!!!, safely EXECUTE
  • Take immediate action to address a safety hazard
  • Visible participation in pre-shift meetings reiterating safety
  • Daily review housekeeping with focus on your areas; don't settle
  • Daily conduct conversations with team members on safety
  • Respond to employee concerns with the respect that it deserves
  • Participate in EHS Framework scoring and improvement plans
  • Do not communicate mixed messages. Reiterate that nothing is as important as safety.
