About the Role

As the Business Development Manager for TrueLight Machine Vision Solutions, you will play a key role in expanding our presence across North America by helping manufacturers solve complex production challenges through advanced machine vision and automation technologies. This is a consultative sales role focused on building long-term customer relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and delivering innovative solutions that improve quality, productivity, and operational performance.

Working closely with our Applications Engineering team, you will guide customers from initial discovery through solution development, proposal presentation, and account growth. Balancing new business development with strategic account management, you'll have the opportunity to shape TrueLight's continued growth while representing a specialized machine vision business backed by the expertise and resources of BOS Innovations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

New Business Development (60%)

  • Identify, research and engage prospective customers by understanding their manufacturing processes and identifying opportunities where machine vision, robotic guidance, and AI-enabled inspection solutions can improve quality, traceability, and operational efficiency
  • Develop and execute strategic outreach plans to penetrate new markets and industries
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers
  • Conduct presentations and demonstrations to showcase the value of TrueLight's solutions
  • Collaborate with marketing to develop lead generation campaigns and attend industry events to network and promote offerings
  • Qualify leads and manage the sales pipeline to close new deals effectively
  • Represent TrueLight at customer facilities, industry events, and trade shows, promoting the company's machine vision integration capabilities and strengthening its presence in the marketplace

Account Management (40%)

  • Collaborate with Applications Engineering and project teams to ensure a seamless transition from solution development through project execution
  • Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing clients, ensuring customer satisfaction and retention
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for key accounts, addressing inquiries and providing proactive support
  • Identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities within the current customer base
  • Conduct regular business reviews with clients to assess performance, gather feedback, and explore growth opportunities
  • Identify opportunities to expand existing customer relationships by introducing additional vision, automation, and data-driven solutions that support long-term operational success 

Business Development Support & Market Intelligence

  • Support marketing initiatives by providing insights into market trends, customer needs, and competitive activity
  • Collaborate with the Applications Engineering team to develop customer-focused technical proposals and solution concepts
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of sales tools, proposal templates, and business development processes

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree, diploma, or equivalent experience in Business, Engineering, Automation, or a related field is preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in business development, technical sales, or account management within industrial automation, machine vision, robotics, or engineered solutions
  • Demonstrated success developing new business opportunities while managing and growing strategic customer accounts
  • Strong understanding of industrial manufacturing processes and the ability to identify automation and machine vision opportunities
  • Experience presenting technical solutions and collaborating with engineering teams to develop customer-focused proposals
  • Excellent relationship-building, negotiation, and communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all organizational levels
  • Experience using CRM systems to manage pipelines, forecasts, and account activities
  • Willingness to travel throughout North America as required
