Job description

D.H. Griffin Infrastructure, based in Greensboro, is a leading heavy civil contractor specializing in the construction of pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities, large-scale technology campuses, and industrial warehousing sites throughout the Carolinas. The Survey team is integral to the company's success, providing advanced technology solutions such as GPS machine control, drone surveys, and construction quality control across all projects. As the company continues to grow, D.H. Griffin is seeking a detail-oriented CAD Technician to join the Survey team in Cary, NC. This role offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals, learn industry-leading tools and workflows, and contribute to high-impact projects in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Responsibilities
  • Import and organize CAD files from engineers into Trimble Business Center (TBC).
  • Import and georeferenced PDF plans into TBC and HCSS for use by survey teams and field crews.
  • Maintain and update the Excel invert tracking log to manage plan revisions across active projects.
  • Ensure project files are organized and maintain version control as plans are updated.
  • Support the Survey Data Manager with project preparation and data organization tasks as assigned.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure accurate and timely data delivery to field operations.
Qualifications
  • Proficiency in CAD or modeling software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, Carlson, or similar platforms (training provided for Trimble Business Center).
  • Ability to read and interpret civil construction plans and specifications.
  • General understanding of site construction, surveying, or drafting principles.
  • Valid state driver's license.
  • Associate's degree or technical certificate in Civil Engineering Technology, Geomatics, Construction Management, Drafting, or a related field, OR equivalent hands-on experience.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to perform precise, process-driven work.
  • Ability to learn new technology and software quickly.
  • Effective communication skills and reliability in team settings.
