Job description

Aegis is seeking a Machine Builder to join our client's organization. This position is a direct hire role. The ideal candidate has the following skills and experinece:

  • **2+ years of machine building, industrial equipment assembly, or automation equipment assembly

  • High school diploma or GED.

  • Prior experience working for a manufacturing company.

  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints independently.

Experience assembling mechanical components including:

  • Bearings

  • Shafts

  • Gearboxes

  • Chains & sprockets

  • Belts & pulleys

  • Drive systems

  • Proficient use of hand and power tools in a manufacturing environment.

  • Able to read electrical schematics.

  • Experience wiring or terminating; motors, sensors, electrical control panels, basic machine controls.

  • Comfortable troubleshooting basic electrical issues during assembly.

  • Experience with drilling, tapping, reaming, and modifying components.

  • Shop equipment experience – band saws, grinders, sanders, drill presses.

  • Quality tool experience- tape measure, calipers, micrometers.

  • Must have their own tools and be comfortable using them at work.

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Nice to have:

  • Experience building custom packaging equipment or automated machinery.

  • Experience with shrink wrap, conveyor, or material handling equipment.
