Located in Lapeer, our client is committed to quality and is looking for an Experienced Machine Maintenance professional to add to their team. This role allows you the ability to work in different capacities throughout the facility. 2nd shift available, pay based on experience.

JOB SUMMARY:
Performs all necessary repairs including heavy electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and fabrication within the organization.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  1. Maintain operation of machinery by completing preventative maintenance requirements on all production equipment.
  2. Strong trouble shooting abilities to locate source of problems by observing device, listening for problems, and using testing instruments.
  3. Follow manufacturer’s instructions, engineering specifications, sketches, operation manuals, and diagrams to troubleshoot and diagnose issues.
  4. Welding, altering, and fabrication of components on machinery using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.
  5. Replace, fix, or realign machine parts and accessories in line with production specifications.
  6. Basic understanding or better, of electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic systems.
  7. Basic ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues with the use of simple troubleshooting tools/hand tools.
  8. Preferred (but not necessary)
    • Welding and fabrication skills
    • Familiarity with CNC machines
    • Familiarity with basic automated equipment
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Movement of equipment, both internal and external
  2. Removal of defective components using hoists, cranes, hand and power tools
  3. Assist in safety and housekeeping repairs
  4. Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
  5. Performs other duties as assigned.
  6. HSD Required.
  7. Experience in a manufacturing environment is highly preferred.
ENVIRONMENTAL EXPOSURES:
  1. Noise – Heavy machinery
  2. Chemicals, oils, acids, sprays, coolants and solvents.
  3. Batteries and propane
  4. Temperature fluctuations
  5. Enclosed spaces.
