*This position is supporting our CDPHP Medicare Sales team. Leadership is open to considering candidates who reside within our service area in NYS (Inclusive of Albany, Rochester, Buffalo, Syracuse, Utica & Binghamton regions)

Summary:

The Medicare Sales Advocate (MSA) is responsible for finding Medicare solutions for beneficiaries by explaining CDPHP's Medicare benefits and plans to prospective members along with assisting CDPHP Medicare Authorized Agents. This position will also qualify prospective members and arrange for enrollment meetings with a CDPHP Authorized Sales Agent. The MSA duties also include resolving eligibility and enrollment related questions and responding to internal and external customer inquiries that may be received via email or by phone. This position requires the ability to work a flexible schedule to ensure all Medicare regulations are met.

Essential Accountabilities:

  • Responsible for accurately explaining CDPHP Medicare products to beneficiaries
  • Required to meet sales and retention goals as determined by Management
  • Responsible for resolving eligibility and enrollment related questions
  • Responsible for assisting CDPHP Medicare Sales Agents with benefit inquiries, enrollment and eligibility related questions
  • Responsible for responding to customer inquiries, internal and external, via phone and/or email communication
  • Must be able to independently identify and solve problems by implementing appropriate solutions within the department and/or organization
  • Responsible for remaining up to date on Medicare guidelines and CDPHP internal policies and procedures
  • Required to meet monthly sales coaching and production standards as determined by Management
  • Have a thorough understanding of Macess, MARx, inContact and CRM system(s) and the ability to consistently enter accurate and appropriate documentation
  • Must have the ability to successfully work closely with other departments within the organization
  • Responsible for conducting sales presentations to walk-in prospects
  • Adhere to all Medicare, Department of Insurance, and company guidelines
  • Work cohesively with all team members to ensure the team meets all established goals for accuracy, timeliness and customer satisfaction
  • Ensure confidentiality of all data in compliance with department and Plan confidentially policies.
  • The employee agrees to comply with CDPHP's Corporate Compliance Policy, and all laws, rules, regulations and standards of conduct relating to the Corporate Compliance Policy and has a duty and obligation to report any suspected violations of any law, the standards of conduct or Corporate Compliance Policy to his or her immediate Supervisor, the fraud and abuse hotline, the Compliance Officer, the Compliance Director, Human Capital Management or the Chief Executive Officer
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Associates degree preferred
  • NYS Life, Accident and Health Insurance License required or secured within 60 days of hire. (3 attempts)
  • Must successfully complete AHIP certification (3 attempts)
  • Must successfully complete product exams (3 attempts)
  • Minimum two years direct selling or telemarketing experience or one year experience in a health-related field required.
  • Experience with Medicare strongly preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word required.Microsoft Excel preferred. Experience with a computer-based documentation system or customer relationship management (CRM) software to track inquiries received is required.
  • Ability to apply problem solving and time management methodology to organization problems is required.
  • Demonstrated public speaking ability preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with external and internal contacts both verbally and in written correspondence.
  • Ability to interpret and make decisions based on prospective member needs, corporate underwriting guidelines, as well as federal regulations relating to Medicare Advantage.
  • Strong attention to detail and capability to meet established productivity and quality standards.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including but not limited to nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to work from home when necessary and/or required by management.

Compensation Range(s):

Minimum: $22.50/hr - Maximum: $35/hr
