Job Summary

Spreadtrum is seeking an experienced WiFi MAC Software Architect to join our WiFi team. This role will be responsible for defining WiFi MAC architecture, guiding software architecture and implementation, supporting current and future WiFi standards, and providing technical leadership for product development and technology roadmap planning.

The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in WLAN standards, WiFi MAC architecture, wireless protocols, and software implementation for WiFi AP/STA systems.


Responsibilities

  • Work closely with WiFi and Bluetooth teams to define MAC architecture and implementation strategies.
  • Participate in and track IEEE 802.11 MAC standardization, including Wi-Fi Alliance feature requirements and test procedures.
  • Define MAC architecture for current and future generations of WiFi standards, including:
    • Hardware/software functional partitioning
    • PHY interface definition
    • Bluetooth coexistence design
  • Define software architecture and provide technical design guidance to the software development team.
  • Develop and define efficient MAC verification systems and methodologies.
  • Analyze complex technical issues and provide solutions for real-world product applications.
  • Provide technical input and recommendations for product development, system architecture, and long-term technology roadmap planning.
  • Serve as a technical leader and subject matter expert for WiFi MAC architecture and protocol implementation.


Qualifications

  • Ph.D. with 5+ years of relevant experience, or M.S. with 10+ years of relevant experience in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of WLAN standards across multiple generations, including advanced standards such as 802.11az, 802.11bf, and related technologies.
  • Solid knowledge of network protocols, with deep expertise in Wireless LAN protocols.
  • Extensive experience in WiFi MAC architecture design and software implementation of wireless protocols.
  • Proven ability to analyze, troubleshoot, and solve complex real-world system and application issues.
  • Demonstrated technical leadership experience in WiFi AP/STA system development.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively across hardware, software, PHY, systems, and product teams.
  • Team-oriented mindset with the ability to work in a fast-paced, global engineering environment.
