Job description
- Provide executive leadership and strategic direction for all operational support functions across the Department of Buses and MTA Bus.
- Establish enterprise-wide priorities, governance standards, and performance expectations that align with organizational goals and operational objectives.
- Lead cross-functional coordination efforts to improve operational effectiveness, service reliability, workforce readiness, and organizational accountability.
- Represent Operations Support in executive-level discussions, strategic initiatives, and agency-wide decision-making processes.
- Oversee all safety programs, accident investigations, operator qualification standards, and regulatory compliance initiatives to ensure adherence with federal, state, and local requirements.
- Direct the development and implementation of comprehensive safety strategies, hazard prevention programs, and environmental compliance initiatives designed to protect employees, customers, infrastructure, and agency assets.
- Establish and uphold enterprise standards for workforce training, operator certification, licensing compliance, and personnel development.
- Ensure effective delivery of training programs supporting both current operations and emerging technologies, including zero-emissions fleet initiatives, e-mirror systems, and future transportation technologies.
- Promote a proactive safety culture focused on risk mitigation, continuous improvement, accountability, and operational resilience.
- Provide executive oversight and financial stewardship for an annual operating budget exceeding $2 billion.
- Direct enterprise-wide material management operations, including inventory control, parts provisioning, cataloging, warehousing, inspections, and contract administration.
