Job description

Position Overview

Normont Equipment is seeking a skilled individual or person with the drive to learn a new trade to join our team. This role involves the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of service truck bodies, flat bed’s, hydraulic cranes, and related equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, hydraulic and electrical system knowledge, and a commitment to safety and quality workmanship.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install and assemble service bodies, cranes, and auxiliary equipment on trucks according to specifications.
  • Diagnose and repair hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems on service bodies and cranes.
  • Perform routine maintenance and inspections to ensure equipment reliability and compliance with safety standards.
  • Fabricate, weld, and modify components as needed for custom installations.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
  • Maintain accurate service records and documentation.
  • Adhere to company safety policies and OSHA regulations.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification preferred. But not required 
  • Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems, electrical wiring, and mechanical components.
  • Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Welding and fabrication skills are a plus. But not required
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
  • Comfortable working outdoors and in various weather conditions.
  • Ability to stand, bend, and work in confined spaces for extended periods.
