The Sr. Analyst, Commercial Analytics supports the sales organization by helping deliver data-driven insights, reporting, and analytical support that contribute to sustainable and profitable growth. This role is designed for an early-career professional looking to build foundational experience in analytics, reporting, and cross-functional business support.

The primary responsibilities of this role include assisting with the development and maintenance of reporting tools, analyzing sales and business performance data, and supporting initiatives tied to Sales Maximization. The Analyst will partner with internal teams and external stakeholders to help identify trends, provide insights, and support business decision-making.

This position helps translate data into clear and actionable insights through reporting, analysis, and basic analytical techniques. The role offers exposure to business strategy, data transformation initiatives, and operational processes while developing technical and analytical skills in a collaborative environment.

Office/Location: Hybrid 3x a week based out of NYC Office

Compensation: $78,000-$98,000/ Annually + Bonus

Job responsibilities

Commercial Reporting & Analytics

  • Assist with the build-out of tools, dashboards, and automated reporting to support:
    • Sales performance
    • Revenue Growth Management (RGM)
    • Commercial planning & forecasting
    • Distributor performance management and KPIs
    • Commercial P&L tracking
  • Help establish standardized KPI frameworks across revenue, margin, trade spend, mix, pricing, and distribution.
  • Deliver executive-ready insights that translate complex data into actionable business strategies.
  • Partner with COE and Commercial leadership to ensure business rules and product needs are embedded in data products and tools.
  • Identify emerging opportunities to improve profitability, pricing effectiveness, and trade ROI.

Predictive Modeling & Advanced Analytics

  • Assist and co-lead the design, validation, and deployment of predictive models across:
    • Commercial KPI’s (internal and distributor)
    • Executional standards (on and off premise)
    • Revenue Growth Management (pricing, elasticity, promo effectiveness)
    • Commercial P&L forecasting
    • Distributor KPIs and performance optimization
  • Leverage Regression analysis to sharpen commercial KPI’s and execution principles
  • Help establish modeling governance standards to ensure scalability, transparency, fairness, and performance monitoring.
  • Build foundational infrastructure for machine learning and AI-enabled commercial decision support.
  • Partner with Advanced Analytics leaders across MHUSA to build and embed a culture of data-driven decision-making.
  • Proactively engage with leadership to identify emerging trends, anticipate data needs, and create new revenue opportunities through advanced analytics.

Data Governance, Quality & Technology

  • Ensure data integrity, consistency, and security across commercial systems and tools.
  • Help establish governance standards for distributor data, trade data, and financial reporting inputs.
  • Own commercial analytics tools and technology ecosystem (e.g., BI platforms, cloud data environments).

Drive automation and reduce manual reporting through improved data pipelines and system integration.

Education

Professional Experience

  • 3+ years of data analysis experience, U.S. wines and spirits industry (preferred).

Technical Expertise

  • proficiency in BI and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, excel)
  • Strong expertise in cloud data platforms and scalable data architectures.
  • Deep understanding of machine learning algorithms, statistical modeling, regression analysis and data science workflows.
  • Experience deploying predictive models into production environments.

Leadership & Soft Skills

  • Strategic thinker with strong execution discipline.
  • Exceptional communication skills; able to influence executive leadership.
  • Strong cross-functional leadership capabilities.
