Position Overview

St. Johns Lutheran School of Baraboo is seeking a Administrative Principal to support, improve, and enhance the administrative structure and the academic improvement of St. Johns Lutheran School. This is a full-time, salaried position that includes a competitive benefits package.

St. Johns is a member of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS); however, WELS membership is not a requirement for this position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and revise policies, procedures, and handbooks for parents faculty/staff. Collaborate with thePrincipal and submit for approval to the necessary governing board.
  • Develop, seek approval for, and implement an enrollment and registration process.
  • Ensure that records are regularly updated and maintained in accordance with all rules and regulations ofstate and local government, WELS, WELSSA and any other applicable governing or oversight body.
  • Ensure St. Johns is compliant with applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
  • Assist in identifying, acquiring and recommending for implementation research-based curricula and instructional materials to improve and enhance the academic program of St. Johns.
  • Develop and implement school-wide observation and assessment tools and procedures, including standardized testing.
  • Ensure students and families are served with beneficial programs such as Title services, safety, and healthprograms.
  • Serve as Wisconsin Parental Choice Program Designee.
  • Advocate and promote professional development for teachers and staff.
  • Identify cases of special needs in children, implement IEPs where possible, and refer parents to programsin cases where St. Johns is not able to adequately meet the special needs of children.
  • Assist in promoting excellence in instruction throughout the school through classroom observation & instructional coaching.
  • Assist in overseeing the master calendar of school events.
  • Work with appropriate lay leadership of St. Johns to produce an annual school budget.

    Developing and implementing an interview and hiring process for non-called and/or part-time staff.
    Developing and keeping up-to-date job descriptions for all non-called staff positions in the school.
  • Ensure custodial and facility needs are adequately met.
  • Ensure all facility, safety, and food safety standards are met and necessary protocols are in place.
  • Oversee procedures for drop-off & pick-up, parent sign-in/out, and staff time sheets.

Qualifications

  • Applicable bachelors degree or higher
  • Training and experience in school administration
  • Submission to and support of the mission statement of St. Johns Lutheran Church and the ministrystatement of St. Johns Lutheran School.
