Job description

Connect Staffing is hiring a Production Supervisor for an outdoor lumber mill and yard operation in Riverside, CA. This is a temp-to-hire position paying $27.60/hr, working Monday through Friday with overtime available up to 4:30pm and Saturdays. In this role, you will lead a production crew across multiple yard departments - keeping people on task, managing daily output, and ensuring operations run smoothly in an outdoor environment. This is a hands-on supervisory role where you're expected to be present on the floor with your crew every shift.
Pay: $27.60/hr
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 6:00am - 2:30pm; overtime available until 4:30pm; Saturdays 8 hours
Location: Riverside, CA

Responsibilities
  • Supervise a production crew across multiple outdoor yard departments, monitoring breaks, lunches, and daily productivity.
  • Input daily and weekly production data into the Daily Production Summary Report and Weekly Recap Report; email summaries to the management team every Friday.
  • Oversee cross-training using the Interdepartmental Proficiency Log and coordinate onboarding for new associates.
  • Take corrective action with crew members as needed, including verbal and written warnings, and report associate issues - injuries, behavior, timeclock problems - to management promptly.
  • Ensure facility signage, inspection sheets, deployment sheets, and safety documentation (LOTO, SDS/MSDS, Right to Know Wall) are current, legible, and accessible.
  • Maintain supply levels for daily operations (banding, ink, ice, water, etc.) and keep the work area organized and clean.

Minimum Requirements
  • 2+ years of experience supervising or leading a production crew in a manufacturing, yard, mill, or industrial environment.
  • 1+ year of experience administering formal corrective actions (verbal warnings, written warnings) in a supervisory role
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Microsoft Teams for reporting and internal communication.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a lumber yard, outdoor production yard, or building materials operation.
  • Familiarity with production tracking apps or mobile operational tools (such as Manage RV App or Shipping App).
  • Experience implementing or updating SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) and JSAs (Job Safety Analyses).
  • Background in crew training, mentorship, or acting as a lead trainer or training supervisor.
  • Experience serving as a Safety Officer or managing safety compliance on a production floor.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English - both written and verbal - for reporting, email, and crew communication.
