Job description

As a Holmes Lumber (a division of Carter Lumber) Cashier, you will be providing excellent customer service at the point of sale. Your responsibilities will include processing transactions, handling cash, and ensuring a positive experience for our customers. We are seeking full time candidates who give attention to detail and accuracy. A strong belief in the mission and goals of the company are necessary to this position.

Requirements to be Considered for this Position:

  • Previous experience in a customer service environment
  • Familiarity with building materials is helpful
  • Ability to participate effectively as a team member
  • Answering the phones
  • Running the cash register

Responsibilities of the Position:

Customer Service:

  • Greets customers and assists with purchases.
  • Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently.
  • Answer customer inquiries and resolve any issues.

Cash Handling:

  • Receive payments in the form of cash and credit cards
  • Maintain accurate cash registers and reconcile daily totals.
  • Follow proper procedures for handling cash and making change.

Attention to Detail:

  • Ensure pricing accuracy and scan items correctly.
  • Assist with restocking merchandise as needed.
