Job description

About Lucid Bots

Lucid Bots Inc. is an AI robotics company that extends human reach by building the world's most productive and responsible robots. Our robots allow people to perform dangerous and demanding tasks without putting human life and safety at risk.

Headquartered in Charlotte, we design, engineer, manufacture, and support our products domestically. Our current line of production-ready robots includes the Sherpa, a cleaning drone, and the Lavo Bot, a pressure-washing ground-based robot. Our products elevate safety and efficiency for customers all around the world. Lucid Bots was recently recognized as the fourth fastest-growing manufacturing company in the United States.

We are venture-backed, with multi-round investments from Y Combinator (S19 batch), Cubit Capital, Idea Fund Partners, Danu Ventures, and others. Learn more about our vision.

How We Work at Lucid Bots

At Lucid Bots, we're building something extraordinary - and how we work matters just as much as what we build. These values guide how we hire, grow, and show up for one another.

  • Expedition Behavior - We climb as one. No silos, no "that's not my job." We protect the team and share the load.

  • Grow with Humility - We're relentless learners. We seek feedback, own mistakes, and get better every day.

  • Lift People Up - Humans come first. We care fiercely, speak honestly, and design for real people in real conditions.

  • Build the Extraordinary - We take ownership, reject the ordinary, and run toward hard problems.

We live Above the Line: we take responsibility, create solutions, and shape the future.
If these values energize you, you'll thrive here. If they feel like too much, this may not be the right climb - and that's okay.

Goal of This Role

The Robotics Technician will play a critical role in assembling, maintaining, and optimizing Lucid Bots' advanced robotic systems. You will work hands-on with robotic hardware, tools, and testing equipment to ensure our robots are built to the highest quality standards. This role will also require flying drones post-assembly for quality assurance testing.

As part of this role, you will collaborate closely with engineers, technicians, and operations team members to improve manufacturing processes, troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues, and contribute to the growth of Lucid Bots' robotics technology.

How You Will Flourish in This Role

You'll thrive at Lucid Bots if you enjoy hands-on work, problem-solving, and being part of a fast-moving robotics team. This role is perfect for someone who takes pride in precision, attention to detail, and ensuring every robot we produce meets our high-quality standards.

What You'll Do:
  • Assemble, maintain, and optimize robotic systems and related equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical issues in robots.
  • Operate production tools and equipment, including soldering irons, CNC machines, rotary tools, and multimeters.
  • Test and validate robotic functionality and quality before deployment.
  • Fly drones post-assembly for quality assurance (FAA Part 107 certification required or must be obtained within 6 months of employment).
  • Support robotic and drone service operations both in Charlotte and in the field.
  • Monitor and improve assembly, QA/QC, and repair processes, making recommendations for efficiency improvements.
  • Collaborate with engineers to develop, build, and test prototypes or new products.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and internal safety protocols.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Skills & Qualifications
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
  • FAA Part 107 UAS remote pilot certificate (or willingness to obtain within 6 months).
  • Experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Comfortable lifting and moving up to 50 pounds unassisted.
Why Join Lucid Bots?
  • Be part of a fast-growing AI robotics company that is redefining safety and efficiency through automation.
  • Work hands-on with cutting-edge robotics technology in a collaborative, dynamic environment.
  • Opportunities for growth - we invest in our employees' development and career progression.
  • Competitive salary and benefits package.
Compensation & Benefits
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • 3% retirement match
  • 15 days of PTO + 11 paid holidays
  • 3 days of Sick Time
  • Company employee option plan
  • Other benefits
What We Expect You to Achieve in This Role
  • Successfully assemble, test, and maintain robotic systems.
  • Ensure high-quality standards in production and testing processes.
  • Contribute to efficiency improvements in manufacturing and QA/QC operations.
  • Foster collaboration across teams to drive continuous innovation in robotics.
