Job description

We're looking for a detail-oriented and proactive LTL Operations Specialist to join our logistics team. In this role, you will serve as a key point of contact for carriers and provide essential support in managing the daily movement of Less Than Truckload (LTL) freight. You'll help ensure timely pick-ups, deliveries, and high-quality service while strengthening carrier relationships and maintaining operational accuracy.
Requirements
  • Enter and maintain customer profiles and shipment details in McLeod TMS
  • Schedule and coordinate LTL pick-ups and deliveries with carriers and customers
  • Track in-transit shipments and provide real-time updates
  • Solicit and evaluate freight quotations for both spot and contract rates
  • Manage carrier data, negotiate rates, and maintain capacity relationships
  • Dispatch drivers in accordance with established procedures and customer expectations
  • Monitor shipment status and update systems to ensure accurate records from origin to delivery
  • Collaborate daily with the operations team to align on service execution
  • Follow standard operating procedures and contribute to continuous process improvements

Qualifications:
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in logistics operations, with emphasis on LTL freight
  • Experience using McLeod software is strongly preferred
  • Experience using DAT to source and book carriers
  • Strong communication, coordination, and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general TMS usage
  • Bonus: Familiarity with port or drayage operations is a plus
