Job description

LSS Life Safety Services® is an industry leader in passive fire protection inspection services such as Fire and Smoke Damper Inspections, Fire Door Inspections, Firestopping, and building commissioning services to facilities throughout the United States. LSS’ testing helps clients meet compliance standards set by The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), International Code Council, The Joint Commission, State Fire Marshals, Insurance Risk Auditors and other regulatory agencies which require the periodic inspection of passive fire protection systems.

Life Safety Services has an immediate need for caulkers and drywallers to work on critical commercial construction projects in the Indianapolis area.

Role and Responsibilities

· Gather supplies and equipment for caulking projects

· Clean, scrape, sand and prepare surfaces for caulking

· Apply sealants and adhesives to seal against water, air, dust and other elements, helping to ensure the safety and security of commercial facilities

· Makes minor repairs and patches cracks

· Monitor caulking projects to ensure they meet quality standards

· Maintain professional and regular communication with customers

· Attend job training activities

Requirements

  • Experience in caulking, drywall, and insulation knowledge a plus
  • Experience in drywall installation, construction, carpentry, plumbing and welding
  • OSHA 10
  • Must provide own tools
  • Experience in customer service and working with the public
  • Must be self-motivated and possess the ability to work independently and efficiently
  • Professional appearance
  • Knowledge of computer software (Word, Excel and Email)
  • Travel Required – 10 days gone, 4 days home.
