An LPN in plastic surgery is a Licensed Practical Nurse specializing in assisting with cosmetic and reconstructive procedures. They provide pre- and post-operative care, monitor patient recovery, assist with minor in-office procedures, and educate patients on post-surgical care. They work closely with surgeons and healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes. This role requires knowledge of wound care, medication administration, and patient support in a surgical setting.

Teamwork is important, as you will collaborate closely with surgeons, RNs, medical assistants, and administrative staff to ensure smooth patient flow. This role can provide a dynamic mix of hands-on patient care and administrative duties, offering valuable experience in a specialized and detail-oriented healthcare environment.

To thrive as an LPN in plastic surgery, you need a valid LPN license, strong clinical skills in patient care, and knowledge of surgical procedures. Familiarity with electronic health records (EHRs), wound care supplies, and pre- and post-operative protocols is essential.
