Job Summary:

The Nurse Auditor maintains the policies and procedures established for the record keeping of the nursing facility to comply with all regulations, both State, Federal and Health Information Management Standards.

Performance Requirements:

The Nurse Auditor is responsible for assembling, performing the concurrent reviews as outlined by company policy, storing and protecting the clinical records and maintaining an organized record system for both active and discharged files for prompt retrieval.

Job Duties - Outlined:

Legal Aspects: Knowledgeable about release of information according to State and Federal Guidelines. Prepares reports for court. Destroys clinical records according to company policy.

Control of Clinical Record Files: Maintains filing system in an organized manner for both active and discharged records. Maintains a number system for record identification.

Completion of Discharges/Transfers/Death Records

Special Duties: Consists of Analysis and Evaluation of Clinical Records

Qualifications:

The Nurse Auditor must have an active certified LPN license. Previous experience is helpful, but not required.
